It’s been a couple of weeks since our vision workshop and I have been so humbled and inspired in equal measure by the feedback from so many participants. Much of it was verbal so impossible to share here as quotes, but it is none the less real for that!
Every time we prepare for a Vision Workshop we set our intention for it to be the best one ever. And in truth, each one is an improvement and expansion of what went before.
But the Vision Workshop this October was more of an expansion than ever. I believe that happened for several reasons – we were in a beautiful new venue, we had a larger number of people present, who were all ready in their own way for that immersive experience, and I was more ready than ever before to speak from the heart and from the Truth of the teachings.
As a result it was a profoundly impactful experience for all of us and I have been feeling so blessed by that. The blessings I have felt come from several levels of experience, the depth at which people were impacted, the sharing that took place, the willingness to go deep with the teachings in service of creating and experiencing unprecedented results.
This feeling blessed through all of it has caused me to remember the work of John O’Donohue and the last work he published before his untimely death: Blessings.
I’m away from home at the moment and don’t have his book with me so I’m working off memory here… in the book he shares his own experience as a newly ordained priest, of being asked for a blessing by an elderly Nun and his own feelings of inadequacy in the moment, feeling that he should be asking her for the blessing. He rises to the occasion though and goes on to share beautiful insights on the power of blessings, a collection of blessings for life moments that we experience or witness on our human journey and also the invitation to create our own blessings.
I confess that, up until now, I have tended to use John’s own words on those occasions when I have been called upon to speak and felt the need to offer a blessing! But I want to share one now for all of you who have chosen to with me, whether through coaching, workshops and in particular the vision workshop, and have had the courage to vision for something new and different in your lives and to take steps in that direction.
For some of you we are at the start of a journey together to support you in that process, for others we are deepening our work together. For all of us, we are growing and becoming a higher version of ourselves and typically we are doing it with more ease, speed and grace.
These are the words John O’Donohue uses to describe a blessing:
“A blessing is a circle of light drawn around a person to protect, heal, and strengthen. Life is a constant flow of emergence. The beauty of blessing is its belief that it can affect what unfolds. It is not the invention of what is not there, nor the glazed-eye belief that the innocent energy of goodwill can alter what is destructive. Blessing is a more robust and grounded presence; it issues from the confident depth of the hidden self, and its vision and force can transform what is deadlocked, numbed.”
Wherever you are on your journey with your vision currently, this is my blessing for you today
May your pain be your pathway to being your best self
May you know the Truth of your greatness and see it unfold
May you have the courage to ask for what you truly desire and the conviction of knowing it is yours to hold
May you always stay open to all you came here to be
May you truly know you are never alone
