As we approach the Easter weekend in Ireland, no matter what your faith tradition, many of us are given the gift of time off, a holiday weekend, school leave… it creates space in the calendar, a pause in the usual pace.
It’s an opportunity for stillness, a chance to breathe, reflect, and simply be.
And yet, stillness can be surprisingly hard to access.
Instead, we fill the silence with scrolling. We distract ourselves with to-do lists. We stay busy, even when there’s nothing urgent to do. Why?
Sometimes, it’s because stillness requires presence, and presence brings us face-to-face with ourselves.
If you’ve ever tried to sit in stillness only to feel agitated, scattered, or somehow not quite there, you’re not alone.
Often the reason we can’t settle is because a part of us isn’t available to be still. We’re not fully present because our energy is elsewhere – caught in past conversations, future worries, or left behind in moments where we over gave, overdid, or felt unseen. Sometimes we have felt as if our power and strength was taken by another person, times when we felt bullied, or undermined or perhaps manipulated in some way.

That’s why I’m sharing a meditation with you this weekend, as my Easter Gift. I know from my own experience that it is particularly powerful and helpful. It’s called Calling Back Your Energy and is adapted from an exercise in Abby Wynne’s book: How to be Well. The meditation gently guides you to gather and reintegrate all the parts of yourself that may be scattered or depleted.
✨ When you call your energy home, you feel more whole.
✨ When you’re whole, you can finally rest.
✨ In rest, you can reconnect with your true self, your vision, your purpose.
This Easter, I invite you to gift yourself the experience of true stillness, not as something to do, but as something to receive. Let it be enough to sit, breathe, and receive.
You can access the meditation here:
For many of my clients, one of the greatest gifts that comes from our work together is this sense of reclaiming yourself, a feeling of coming home to self.
This holiday, let this meditation support you in returning to yourself.
Wishing you a peaceful and restorative holiday weekend.
