Get Your Good Vibes On
Most people have heard about the law of attraction, which states that like attracts like. What many people are less aware of is the Law of Vibration, which is actually the primary law that governs the former.
Stick with me here. This may be sounding a bit woo woo! But here’s the Truth. There are Universal Laws that govern everything in the Universe and they are as real as the laws of gravity and thermodynamics. And just as we can’t see gravity, but feel it’s effects, so too can we feel the effects of the Universal Laws. Once you understand how the laws work, you can harness them to support the manifestation of the results you most desire.
Einstein is attributed to having said it this way:
“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.”
Everything is energy and the only difference between physical objects is the frequency of the vibrations that make them up. I’ve always found this a bit mind blowing! Everything is made up of vibration: the desk you’re sat at, the devise you’re using to read this, the pen you make notes with, the glasses on the end of your nose – all made up of energy, vibrating at different frequencies.
And here’s the even cooler thing to know and understand. Our thoughts and feelings are also energy, and vibrate at different frequencies.
Take a moment to tune into some happy thoughts right now – notice how it feels when you think those thoughts – typically it feels expansive in some way, a feeling of opening up or space or relaxation and ease.
And take a moment to think about something that is weighing you down currently, that you are anxious or concerned about in some way. Notice how that feels. Typically it feels more contractive, you might feel a kind of heaviness or tension.
Let’s make this more concrete. Say something happens that you’re not happy about – you did something either at work or in your personal life and it didn’t work out as you had hoped.
One response can be to think “I shouldn’t have done that. I totally screwed up there. This is embarrassing…”
Another response could be to think “I’ve got this. I’m learning, I won’t do it that way again. People understand…”
Which feel’s better?
Our thoughts and emotions have different frequencies. And the thoughts we think the most frequently and the related emotions, are attracting in more experiences, ideas and conditions that resonate at the same frequency.
When we want to create new results, therefore, our job is to choose and stabilise thoughts that are in harmony with or resonate with the frequency of those results. We don’t have to be perfect at this, we just need to be at the frequency of our vision more often than we’re not and that creates the tipping point to attract those results into our lived experience.
This is not to say that we can never have thoughts of disappointment or worry or fear. It’s totally normal and ok for those thoughts to arise. We just don’t want to get stuck in them. For most people, when disappointing thoughts rise up and disappointing experiences emerge, the tendency is to dwell on them, to call our friends and complain about them, to listen to music that matches that mood. In reality, those thoughts and feelings will pass through the body in 90 seconds if we don’t add to them and give them weight with our attention and by adding a story. So notice those thoughts and feelings and feel them and let them pass on through.
Then bring your attention back to higher frequency thoughts and let the law of attraction goes to work to bring to your attention and lived experience the ideas, people, resources and opportunities that are aligned with that higher frequency. This is what’s going on when people tell you that when you change your thoughts, you change your life.
Energy flows where attention goes. In a world that is governed by the law of vibration, you want to make sure that you are keeping your vibration high and thinking high vibration thoughts more often than not. In terms of creating new results in your life, your job is to generate a stable state on the frequency of your vision.
Some of the ways you can lift your vibration and stabilise it at a high frequency include:
- Consciously picking the people you choose to hang out it – as Michelle Obama put it: “Choose people who lift you up”
- Engage with Inspirational Stories and Movies
- Being grateful
- Music – listen to sound that raises your vibration and lifts your spirits
- Laughter – your natural essence is joy, access it through laughter
- Connect with your vision daily
